Vanlife Retirement

Its been awhile since I've dropped in. Sad to see some old friends have passed on

'm retiring next month and planning on vanlifing for at least a short period.
Plan is to travel around Florida for awhile, mom's old asf and loves her baby boy.
Planning on camping in Moose lodge parking lots
I'll youtube it and call it a membership drive. Maybe I'll get some free lunches

Gonna be doing it in a self built camper on a RCSB 96 Ford named Obious
This has been a plan/dream since I was about 12yo

Unfortunately I'll be selling off the greater majority of my gun collection and most of my "stuff.

Luckily my oldest has straightened out at 40 and has turned his other addictions to gun collecting.
Oddly, for some, the guns that i never really felt comfortable introducing him to are what turned his life around.
He was amazed at my collection and past collection when I did.
He assumed that the Beretta 92, I bought on this forum, that I gave was my only gun.
I wanted him to have at least one real gun in his plastics collection.
He's wanting to learn some gunsmithing now so I may donate my old Lipsey Sistema in a box to the effort

I actually follow a few people on YouTube that do this and it’s interesting to watch. One thing they’ve mentioned is joining a 24 hour national gym for $10 per month or so and having access to the shower facilities anytime you want. Makes the journey that much more enjoyable and you can park in their lot for a while and unwind. Keep us updated on your adventures.

Planet Fitness seems to be the big one.
But those people are literally showering like weakly

I'll probably be joining just because, but I'm planning on daily showers with a recirculating shower.

I'm also a Moose
Every Moose lodge I've looked at has some sirt if parking availability
Panasofkee had primitive RV spots
Debary had what looked like semi parking spots.
Panasofkee also had a shower available and meals for $5
Orlando has pool for a $5 deposit
Play all day and get $3 back

So I'm hoping that angel works out

Sounds like something I'd enjoy.
Don't think my wife would be joining me though LOL!

True story
I got covid the weekend they shut Orlando down.
My Vietnamese of 25 years had talked me into renting the teeny tiny apartment downstairs from our apartment as my business office
When I got the vid it made sense to just move in and quarantine myself.
I moved in my uniforms and made it into a small storage room and workshop.

Then she started bringing more and more stuff down. I tokd her i didn't all this stuff I'm wasn't moving in.
She said "No, you live here now"
So for, what, about 3 years I've been living below my ex.

Everything was good and she was still cooking for me sometimes until she found out that I got a girlfriend or 2.
Broke up with everyone except the sister of the first and I'm free and relatively single for the first time since I was 18, and I was in the army then.

Then I might as well fill in the blanks.
Three are sisters
I'm still tight with two of them. The first one broke my heart.
She's the one i was supposed to be traveling with.
Both the others want to but only shorter trips
But one took on raising her friends 15yo son until she gets out of prison and the other is legit crazy.
She's the queen of Puerto Rico, or Beyoncé depending on the day.
And she's undercover with the CIA infiltrating the Illuminati.
She's one of my favorite people but literally Never shuts up. She carries on conversations in her sleep.

Its been an interesting couple of years

Think you will be pretty lonely without someone going with you to share the experience.
