Lathe work recommendations?

Good morning.

Anyone know of a good place or person doing lathe work in the (preferably) west central FL area?

I have a shortened Mauser I'd like to have the last 1.25" or so of the barrel diameter tuned down to accommodate a front sight base. Probably a super easy job its just a bit too long to fit in some of the smaller hobby lathes I've tried. Thanks

Look for a hobby lathe that has a pass through in the chuck. You won't be limited to length. I don't know about the new ones, but the old Grizzly/Harbor Freight benchtop lathes had this feature.

I tried it on a smaller hobby lathe, the barrel was too thick to pass through unfortunately. Don't remember the brand though.

Dow Arms, Dade City. Might also try HNR in Inverness.

Wow. Shows how much I've been paying attention. :)

I'll miss Ross though.
