Shipping black powder revolver to Poland

so I got a black powder 1851 sherif's or something like that for my father in law who lives in Poland. I got it from Midway, it was shipped to me directly since those are not legally considered firearms. in Poland they can also be purchased without any license etc, so they have the same status there.

I would like to ship it to him but am not sure how to go about it. I dont want a USPS clerk to freak the F out if I put revolver on the customs form... now what?

thanks!

Separate the cylinder from the frame, and send him two packages of machine parts.

This is an interesting question. I have been wanting to do the same for months, but for business purposes. There is a big market here for « cowboy » stuff. Actually, not only for firearms. As far as firearms are concerned, even if brand new production, if the model is prior to 1900, there are no restriction.

The question I was asking myself was if it existed any restrictions for shipping from the US? Anybody with a sure answer to this?

I just Air Freighted 500 kilos of machine parts from Denmark to Lakeland via Miami last month for a little over $1500. No clue how USPS justified $400 for a 2 kilo max package.
