What was your first revolver?

The first revolver I ever shot was the S&W M64 .38 Special in the academy 30 years ago. I really liked that revolver and got quite good with it, getting a Master rating with it. Kinda wish I would have bought one when we phased them out going to semi-autos. Only thing I didn't like is they made us keep the wood grips on them, which were kinda skinny. They worked just fine but just not as comfortable as one with a Hogue or Pachmyr grip.

First personally owned revolver, and actually my first personally owned firearm, was a Taurus 669VR. Bought that new from Sports Authority back in the day for $220. Really a sharp looking revolver.

Over the years I've had all kinds of revolvers and though I don't have any now, I've often thought of getting back into one again. Just because. Probably a 357 in either S&W 686 or Ruger GP100 flavor. Prices are out of sight for either right now though.

How about you guys?

S&W mod 60, about 35 years ago living in S FLA. It’s not my everyday carry but certainly a safe go to gun as needed.

As a teenager, I was really into black powder. When I turned 17 my dad got me a replica Colt 1860 Army cap and ball revolver. Fun to shoot, but hell to clean.

My first modern revolver was a Ruger Single Six convertible .22 LR/ .22 magnum. I was 19 and bought it for $125 from a guy who'd listed it in the local classified ads.

When I was just shy of 21 I got my first centerfire revolver - a Smith & Wesson Model 15 Combat Masterpiece.38 Special. Bought that one for $150 from a buddy's mom who was a cop in our town. I sold it for $150 a couple of years later to raise cash so could buy my first 1911 - a cobbed together rattle-trap with a WWII Ithaca slide and a 1920's Colt frame that barely shot minute-of-barn-door.

Wish I had that Model 15 back.

All considering they are not that expensive compared to alot of S&W guns.. You should get yourself another...

A ladysmith. My first carry gun when I lived in NY. Long gone now.

Wound up finding a nice, early S&W Model 60 down here though.
