Anyone know where to get pieces of granite/marble?
I am almost done with having my bathroom shower redone and was wanting to get a couple of small pieces of granite, marble, etc., for a shower curb and for the top of a half wall. Anyone have a source for getting some small pieces without having to buy the whole slab?

I once picked up enough scraps to mosaic-tile a 12x12 patio in an attractive random pattern/color scheme. Formed it up with 2x4s, laid a single row of landscape edging bricks along the inside, a base of bedding gravel, arranged the granite/marble scraps in a random jigsaw puzzle leaving finger-width grout gaps, brushed sanded mortar mix into the joints, watered gently. Done.

....and some rin up hill and down dale, knapping the chucky stanes to pieces wi' hammers, like sae mony road-makers run daft - they say it is to see how the warld was made!
