Fred was NOT tropical

Post by Iosef »

I was directly under the heart of Fred. The storm took about 9 hours to pass over me, blowing and raining. At the outer edges, the temp was 72 degrees. The center of the storm was cooler, at 70 degrees. Tropical storms and hurricanes run 85 degrees and warmer. This storm may have looked like a tropical storm to radars and satellites, but it definitely wasn't tropical. I haven't seen temps this cool since May. It was 75 degrees just before dawn this morning, 6 hours before the cool edge of Fred arrived.

Shit, I'll take one of these then. Hell I'll take two a week!

Did they... really? We got 4 inches of rain, which is about ten inches less than normal even for a weak tropical storm. Of course, the media claims we got BAD flooding, too.
