Gov. Northam Signs Gun-Control Bills Into Law
The Associated Press

RICHMOND, Va. (AP) — Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam has signed several new gun restrictions he championed during this year’s legislative session, cementing gains by gun control advocates they hope will serve as a “blueprint” for states around the country.

The Old Dominion has been the epicenter of the nation’s gun debate after Democrats took full control of the General Assembly last year on an aggressive gun control platform. Tens of thousands of gun owners from around the country rallied against new gun restrictions at the state Capitol in January while lawmakers ultimately approved 7 out of 8 of Northam’s gun-control package.

The governor announced Friday he’d signed bills that include requiring universal background checks on gun purchases, a red flag bill to allow authorities to temporarily take guns away from people deemed to be dangerous to themselves or others, and limited handgun purchases to one a month.

“This is an exciting day for me,” Northam said on a conference call with gun-control advocates.

Virginia was once a socially conservative state where lawmakers in both parties viewed gun rights as sacrosanct and the National Rifle Association held great sway.

But as the state has grown more urban and suburban, the gun lobby’s influence has waned. A mass shooting last year in Virginia Beach made gun control a front-burning issue in Virginia and heavy spending by groups backed by former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg helped Democrats flip control of the legislature in November.

Gun-control advocates said Friday they’re planning to replicate their success in Virginia in other states. John Feinblatt, president of Everytown for Gun Safety, said his group plans to spend heavily in key battleground states this year like Arizona, North Carolina and Pennsylvania to elect lawmakers who support new gun restrictions.

Feinblatt said polling shows a gun-control agenda is popular in those states and that Virginia is a “bellwether” of what’s to come.

The gun lobby was not totally shut out of Virginia’s legislative session and were able to water down many bills backed by Northam.

“While we still don’t like them, they’re not as bad as they once were,” said Philip Van Cleave, president of the Virginia Citizens Defense League.

Moderate Democrats also balked at passing one of the most high-profile gun measures debated this year: banning assault weapons like the popular AR-15-style rifles.

The governor acknowledged that he “came up short” on that legislation but said he will try again next year.

“I will not stop,” he said.

Van Cleave said his group is readying several lawsuits against the new gun laws and predicted gun owners will elect more gun-friendly lawmakers next year in state House elections

“Nothing (Northam’s) doing today is necessarily permanent,” Van Cleave said.

I feel a hurricane rising and it's not going to be good for a government that took an oath to uphold the CONSTITUTION and the BILL OF RIGHTS.

Then once in office they destroy it. Tens of thousands of Americans died for the rights we have.

These SOCIALIST are breeding new American patriots. Just like the British did. No government in the world is so powerful it can not be removed and replaced.

But the one thing ALL these SOCIALIST have in common are they know they MUST disarm the people they wish to rule.

But there's one hugh differencehere. There are millions who will resist a tyrannical government. Americans do not like being controlled. Because we have that CONSTITUTION and the BILL OF RIGHTS as our blue print of our government.

It's kinda like backing a wild animal into a corner. They become 10 times more dangerous.

These TREASONOUS LEFT WING SOCIALIST EXTREMISTS are backing AMERICANS into a corner.

We all know that disarming americans has nothing to do with except setting the stage for a power grab and destroying the very documents that made AMERICA what it is.

Documents that the traitors have stated are old, outdated and mean nothing anymore. Their goal is to rewrite the CONSTITUTION and the BILL OF RIGHTS. That's their very words. Not mine.

Since losing power of the OVAL OFFICE these traitors have tried every concievial way to pull a POLITICAL COUP of the government. Mueller, impeachment and now calling for another partisan investigation of the President to stage another COUP attempt.

These SOCIALIST are creating the very people that they are so afraid of.

While you were looking away the Federal Reserve pretty much merged with the Treasury Dept and was granted the right to buy absolutely everything including ETFs, muni bonds, corporate bonds, junk bonds etc. and to do so on the primary market instead of the secondary as they used to (I am sure this will not be abused in any way). They are already buying stocks through large banks via their dark pools and slush funds but it is just a matter of time before this limitation is lifted and they are allowed to do so in the open, BOJ style.

All of the above plus the bailouts of Wall Street, billionaire hedge funds, oil industry, airlines, cruise and of just about anyone who asked for a bailout will be financed by an increasingly dimwitted american middle class. The loss of virtual gun rights you never really had to begin with does not even register on the Richter scale of financial slavery every US living and unborn taxpayer just got enrolled in. And all it cost them was $1200 per slave.

The perfect crisis that the Libiturds will not let go to waste. Ron Paul was right, and the Fed shows it true colors. This forms the basis for printing unlimited $ and the basis for so many of the things the libiturds want.

Little history lesson here - it wasn't just the liberals...

Gun control
Carter has publicly expressed support for a ban on assault weapons and background checks of gun buyers.[386] In May 1994, Carter and former presidents Gerald Ford and Ronald Reagan wrote to the U.S. House of Representatives in support of banning "semi-automatic assault guns."[387] In a February 2013 appearance on Piers Morgan Tonight, Carter agreed that if the assault weapons ban did not pass it would be mainly due to lobbying by the National Rifle Association and its pressure on "weak-kneed" politicians

Bloomberg dumped millions into the state congressional elections in VA. He could do the same here.

You point out where the real danger lies.
Deflation is coming in the short-term, followed by inflation, followed by hyperinflation as the world continues the de-dollarization it began after the 2008/9 financial crisis.
The Federal Reserve’s printing press will guarantee a total and complete loss of purchasing power for the USD...it’s baked into the cake, with just the timing uncertain. Every nation that has ever tried to print its way out of debt, without exception, has turned its currency into toilet paper.
Cue mandatory transition to digital currencies. Privacy and liberty—exit stage left.
