I fully expect this thread to devolve into a discussion about sitting comfortably and/or the dangers of falling on ones back and its NOT about that!
Just a simple question.
Do you prefer to simply reach around, draw your gun and go to work, or do you watch too much television and prefer to take the time to uncomfortably turn your hand completely around AND sweep your body during your draw?

I would never carry SOB. For the same reason I teach rookies not to put their cuffs or other equipment SOB on their duty belt. If you go down hard on your back (fight or slip) you can seriously mess up the small of your back if you impact on the holster/pistol over your spin.
I did on weekends for about a year... End of the day I always had lower back pain. I stopped, it stopped. While i really liked the spot- it concealed well, was quick to draw (from an angle that most wouldn't think you're drawing), and I thought it looked cool, it wasn't for me. Went back to a more traditional placement.

SOB may be the best option for some, just not for me. Long ago and far away, I carried a double handcuff case SOB on my duty belt. I walked into a low basement ceiling beam one night, landed flat on my back on concrete. The pain was badddd. Could barely set in the car the rest of the night. I had a bruise the size of a softball and suffered with back pain for a week. I was fortunate to not have suffered a more serious injury than I did. I immediately changed to two single cases at about 5 and 8 oclock on my belt. Since then, I've never carried anything SOB. https://www.gunsafespot.com/small-of-back-holster/
