I just upgraded to the latest forum version. This fixed the registration problem. However it broke 2 plugins, one being Tapatalk. Looking for the updated version assuming it is already available.
I'll update when available.

The registration captcha plug-in is fixed. Thank God. Tapatalk is still out.
