Might be what I have to do as well, because the "upload from workstation" option isn't working. It doesn't give the "size limit" error anymore, and it says the profile is updated, but the updated avatar doesn't take.

yup, apparently this is a new option (or I never saw it before) and I thought it would be nice to enable.

I appreciate your efforts and hard work. I own my own site as well and know how frustrating it can be when something happens. The board looks good and time to rebuild.
