Concerning the problem of deleting private messages, I just created a brand new forum on one of my domains and the error wasn't present. Over the weekend, I will try something, but it will require me to shut down the forum. I will try to do this at a less problematic time for you guys. I'll keep you posted but if the forum isn't available, it is because I am working on it.

Ford Expedition

Post by REDinFL »

In about three weeks, I'll be putting my 2003 Ford Expedition up for sale. Overall it's in OK condition, runs well.

The negatives are it needs shocks, there is a paint issue on the passenger side, about 2" wide below the windows, extending from the middle of the front door to the back of the back door - basically the clearcoat bubbling up and chipping off, there is a dent in the right front plastic bumper. It will need new tires soon.

Positives are it only has 83000 miles on it (anything I see on Craigslist is 180, 000 and up), as far as I can determine it has not been in an accident - it belonged to my father-in-law since new, and I bought it from him when he quit driving about 7 1/2 years ago.

Is it mint? No. Will you have a heart attack in a parking lot and some jackass throws open a door? No.

Why am I selling? I don't really need it, I don't want to pay the insurance, and the wife is getting dental work.

Kelley starts at $2,700 trade in and heads up.

What do you knowledgeable guys think? Also, any interest? I'd put it in BST, but I'd have to put a price on it according to the rules.

If you put a box of .380 in the back, you can double the price.

I think your price is low. This is what I got. I didn't select the options, other than the color. I just chose white.

The private party, in fair condition, with the mileage at 80k. So that's the lowest price.

At 2700 it should sell very quickly, I'd definitely raise the price

I think you can get about $3,500 for it right now in today's market.
I have a 2002 with Triton 5.4 with 265,000 miles on it and broken A/C and I was offered $1,500 last year. I ended up keeping mine for use at the farm and for my son to learn to drive so no tag and no insurance.

Thanks rug. From the advice given me by the posters above, and your figure, I think that's just about right. I try to be fair and subtract for the negatives. So it probably should be right about there. I'll probably list it for $3,995, and come down from there. Always have to have a cushion, people want one to come down. I hate bargaining but, that's the way things are.
