For example, today on the History Channel, they're running an all-day marathon of "The Food That Built America." Even the Military History Channel and American Heroes Channel have nothing in today's schedule to commemorate its significance.

Shameful.
The History Channel played that out when it was the Hitler Channel and showed nothing but WWII.

This i agree is beyond shameful.

Especially on the military channel.

None of the millennials have a clue of this day in history, or the importance of it.

Just like Boomers and Gen Xers know little to nothing about the Banana Wars, WWI, the Boxer Rebellion, the Span-Am, etc...

As time marches forward and living memories die with those that witnessed their creation. Events in the past disappear from the collective consciousness of society.

Having been in Vietnam back in 68-69 I now and in the past few years wear a cap showing my service there. About a year ago I was speaking w a young Vietnamese girl 19or20 and she didn’t know anything about the conflict. I realize it didn’t have the same impact as June 6th but? Might be her parents preferred not to discuss it but you’d think history books would have reflected it. Mav

Maybe it's how the press destroyed the effort. The liberals in Congress betrayed the troops. Yeah, a lot of people, especially those who lost everything but their lives and the clothes on their backs, don't want to think about it any more.
Hurrah for the Bonnie Blue Flag that bears a Single Star.
