GOOGLE CHROME

Post by Firemedic2000 »

I get into my truck turn it on and take off down the road. Hit the call button on my steering will and say call my sister. Truck comes back that there is no phone paired. Hum....I pull over at a store and check phone on pull down menu. You know, where on Samsung phones you just put your finger at top of screen and pull down quick apps.

Bluetooth was on. So I shut truck off and turned it back on. Nope still would not connect. Went into setting to blue tooth and their in settings it was off. Tried to turn it on and it would not turn on. No matter what I did. So I just put it down until I got home.

Got home dug into it deeper. Long story short. Found out Google Chrome did an update and get this. They installed COVID19 tracking software into the Google Chrome search engine.

Now I have the tracking feature turned off and everything else in every software including Google that ask if they can use your location. So COVID19 app was not active.

But also this new GOOGLE CHROME does not play well with blue tooth.

I went to settings found CHROME and disabled it and BAM!!! BLUE TOOTH works again. Apparently you must go into CHROME and make some setting changes to get it to work with blue tooth.

But my point is they download COVID19 tracking SOFTWARE ON MY PHONE. That basically ties me to those around me. Based upon my medical history. Number one my medical info is protected. I never gave permission to anyone to release it to anyone to use to track me. Especially Google.

I never agree to opt in to any COVID tracking program. They just covertly added a COVID tracker to a search engine. Without asking or informing anyone they were doing it.

This is getting out of hand with these companies. Yes I know nothing is private online. But this is different. This is a whole different ball game. They are tracking you as an individual and using a pandemic as an excuse to do it. This is not your shopping history or other thing. Plus who you are with at any given location that the big thing.

SO, get rid of the cell phone, and your problem is solved.

I still do not have a cell phone, never have and never will.
Yep, I'm 100% dinosaur, but no one is tracking me.

Apple or Android?

Use Firefox. It's the only browser that isn't owned by a big IT company. (There might be other good ones, but I don't know anything about them.)

Yet another reason I call this a Scamdemic. All sorts of companies and the government are using a sensationalized virus for their own purposes, greedy and nefarious.

Yes, Apple iOS has it on their phones, too. Supposedly, the default is "off". It's in Settings>Privacy>Health. Did I say SUPPOSEDLY, default is off? I wouldn't put anything past these crumbs.

Appears to be installed directly into iOS & Google directly.

Android phones will get the COVID-19 tracking updates via Google Play

Does your phone suddenly have COVID-19 tracking on it?
I'll tell you what rule we applied sir.
We applied rule 303.
We caught them and we shot them under rule 303!

Like I said I've turned off all the tracking options on phone. The COVID tracker was not on. You know when you delete your cookies, which I do a few times a day. A pain because I have to sign back in here and a few other sights.

But when you click on Google. At the bottom pops up a box. GOOGLE asking permission to track you click here. I just ignore it. Yeah it annoying. But I use duck duck now alot too.

The only problem is when I order something online and I pay using a credit card. I never ever use a debit card anymore except at a bank atm only. I use credit cards only, even to pay my monthly bills. You have to use chrome to pay. Regular Google will not work.

Plus I have all my credit reporting sites locked so no one can run credit reports or apply for new credit checks. Also I get alerts on all transactions on all my credit cards, debit cards and even my bank accts. I can deny any transactionor lock any card. I also have double authentication when accessing all my accounts. I log in, not only do I need a password. I need a code they text me. That must be entered on top of my password or the account access is denied or locked. Then I have to call them with a private pin or sometimes even go in to unlock it.

Wells Fargo was really bad about that on their credit card. Everytime I used it to buy gun related items. They'd lock it. After 3 times I told them to F Off and shove that damn card up their Azz. That they knew what they were doing. I'm switching to a different bank. But it's a pain in the butt because I have direct deposit and have to fill out a bunch of paper work with BOCC

On my tablet which is android I leave chrome active. It never leaves the house. But I have to have a phone. It's an older phone too. A Samsung galaxy S5 I like it because I can change the battery if it goes bad.

Where as in the newer phones they are sealed. I guess you can send them in and get a new battery. But screw that. Mine I just order one and replace it. Plus I can still access alot of the functions they've locked you out of in the newer ones. I can use it as a mobile hot spot when I go RVing too.

I'm not paying 700 to over 1000 for a damn phone. I use the camera and make calls, I have a GPS in the truck that I can turn on and off. My wife has a galaxy S4 but gotta have a phone now in case of medical emergencies basically and porn

It is not tracking. It is an API. That will allow the application to work once they release it ONLY if you allow it. It has not yet been released. This is just getting ready for it. The API is an interface for the actual application.

There were as lot of articles it about it earlier in may and June. Most though were in the industry magazines and blogs. Most folks would have no idea about it.

Now if you get something asking for permissions tell it no.
