Dated a woman in the early 2000’s who came over during the Muriel Boat Lift, asked her about wanting to go back and buy property after the Castro regime died out. She was not interested in the least.
When Cuba finally moves toward a market-based economy, you can bet moneyed interests will build up every square foot of coastline much the same as they’ve done here in Florida. I’ve wondered if there’s any way to buy into that action ahead of the curve.

I shared this video with a friend of mine who only came to the states 6-7 years ago. he says it's basically all true... reminds me a lot of communist Poland where I grew up too.

Communism is the worse way of government, it enhances all the flaws that we humans are born with, it corrupts the people’s spirit making them become liars, lazy and worse of all snitches.
I’m glad I left that shithole over 20 years ago.

There’s still great people over there and I feel terrible for what they have to endure but since communism took over Cuba’s society it has been producing scumbags at a huge disproportionate rate to their population numbers.

If we don’t wake the fuck up we’re next.

and that's the infuriating and unbelievable thing to me as an immigrant form a communist country: people born and raised here, in the greatest wealth, prosperity, and freedom the world has ever seen, buy into this socialism / communism crap thinking they can somehow make it work, where there is proof right next door and all over the world that this system is incredibly destructive.

the other day this Indian guy at work (India had a lot of communist influence since being decolonized) was sitting next to me and my Cuban friend, and he kept yapping how when he visited Cuba all the people there seamed so happy with their simple way of life, like they were more at peace and kind and all this garbage... we literally could not stand listening to this crap so we both got up and just walked away. this punk who jumped through all the hoops to come here, out of ALL the places in the world, on a H1B, was romanticizing about communist Cuba.

the immigration from the 3rd world is not helping turn the tide of America toward more government control... for the most part it seams those people are coming here for a handout, not because like my family and me, they want freedom. un-f**king believable!

I've been working for consulting MEP (mechanical, electrical & plumbing) engineering firms specializing in Healthcare facilities for the last 40 years, starting in Miami where I grew up.
The 3 firms I have worked for during my 40 year career have all talked about tapping into the Cuba market.
That's going to be a huge market once it opens up....still waiting, waiting, waiting.

Communism is going to take US dollars for as long as US dollars continue to keep communism on life support.

That land that Fidel illegally seized will have to be returned to the rightful owners before that ever happens. GARY
