Fingerprint time clocks solves this problem. No covert crap needed.

If they're balking at $150 camera they're not the kind of place who is going to buy $1500 clocks, set up the network infrastructure to support it, hire the IT team to support the infrastructure and application, and the annual license costs of the time management suite that could stretch into the millions.

What about an old cell phone with an SD slot? Casually set it to record and plug it in the corner... Check for suspicious activity, then check the tape...

I installed one of those for a client previously. Wasn't 100% reliable.

With a real one, they're going to need to hire a new employee just to compare footage against who punched in/out and when.
Looking at security cam footage really is more tedious than you might think.
No Shit?

That's pretty much what I was trying to say, hence the suggestion that a new employee might be required to deal with the tedium.
I was agreeing?

Have a sign made - it works.

Really I was just talking about the $400 dollar type with monthly cloud service costing $20-$100 depending on how many employees you have. Not multi-million dollar corporate stuff.
