what Gen it is,year born..

Have a 27 my brother gave me awhile back and all I know is that it was his off duty carry at one time,since retired.

If it’s a Gen 4 it will say so on the left side of the slide. If not it’s a Gen 3. I’m not sure about the G27, but a G26 that has no texturing between the finger grooves is a Gen 2.5. As far as the date just shoot an email to Glock with the serial number.

Not the greatest answer but you gotta go by serial number, recognized features, or the obvious gen4/5 labeling on the slide.

Otherwise GLOCK has produced different generations concurrently meaning that born on date, or when it hits shelves, is not a clear indication.
