Re: Info ? On Green Swamp WMA ?
Thanks much. I went there Friday and looked it over. The bridge is in great condition. The road from the main road to the river was closed, due to flooding/mud, though. Saw a lot of hog sign, nothing of deer, though. Most places, it's a long walk from the road to the wooded cover for hunting, walkin...

Info ? On Green Swamp WMA ?
Hi. I drew Green Swamp WMA for early december general gun hunting (deer/pigs). I’ve never hunted there, had always before hunted NE Florida. Can anyone please provide general suggestions/tips for the area (practical experience, beyond what’s in the WMA brochure online)? It’s also called Green ...

Re: Explanation of Ballot ADMENDMENTS
"Meanwhile, while the NRA has jumped on the fear wagon to fund-raise off Amendment 13..." Yeah, cause the NRA is only about fund-raising, right? And only uses "fear" to promote its goals, right? And is only beholden to the racing industry, or the gun industry, or the bass boat in...

Re: Garand
Oooh, I got 2 HK SLB-2000's. It's quite a heavy little weapon for what's essentially a carbine. One has a slightly shorter stock (bought it from a guy who had done that), and my wife has used it, but she likes the weight of her 12-ga better for deer hunting. I bought a replacement forearm and stock ...

Re: Got Hog?
It was a roughly 100 pound sow, neck spine shot (dropped it immediately), and I and a buddy cleaned it at his place about 2 hours later. Hung it from his tripod. I let him keep 75% of it for helping me clean it--I had very little freezer space. I didn't know what I was doing, and just added salt unt...

Re: Best outdoor ranges in central florida
Yeah, I shot at Ares at the recent full-auto Expo--got to try a Barrett 50 and suppressed Rem700, AR15's, and mp5. I had a great time. Mud (recent heavy rains) was an issue, though, getting around. I hope the range can do some improvements on its roads there, for that reason. My RSO there was super ...

Re: Got Hog?
Do you guys do any special prep before cooking hog? I think the key to good tasting hog meat is to kill it quickly with CNS shot so it doesn't build up hormones, adreline, etc. and get it cleaned and on ice ASAP. I try to kill it, clean it and get it on ice within 2 hours and I usually get it done ...

Re: Woods carry
I've been carrying my GP100 in one of these and love it! https://gunfightersinc.com/kenai-chest-holster/ That doesn't look like it would keep the pistol secure! If you lean over too far, or it snags a branch, seems like it would come out! Looks like it's friction and gravity retention only. They do...
