They could be trying to ensure dealers or buyers comply with local laws? That if you live in a city with a ban, you can't bring the gun into that city. Doesn't mean you can't possess it outside the city.

Re: PSA on flying with a rifle case and TSA locks
Federal law states that only the OWNER can possess the key or combination to the gun container. Never use TSA locks. That's what I thought. It's worked for me about a hundred times. I've only had one TSA employee stop me. It was in Atlanta, and the guy made me buy TSA locks. I've always flown with ...

Re: Heads up! Price increase!!
Is anyone still using R12? I think I still have some lying around, but didn't know anyone who was still using it. I thought everything with R12 had already been retrofitted by now.

Re: Trump has gone nuts, attacking DeSantis
I thought Trump had gone nuts when he went all "take the guns and due process later", after Parkland. And his ATF changed the definition of machine gun from firing one bullet with one trigger pull to anything that helps you shoot fast. I have no idea how he has any traction with gun owners...

Re: I think I pissed off Fred Guttenberg
ss1, You can count Republicans and Democrats, but how many of them actually vote? Politicians listen to the NRA because they have 5 million members in the entire country, but the members are politically active. So, 2 million FL permit holders are a smaller group than Republicans or Democrats or NRA ...

MiamiJBT-
I was using 2 million as a round number.
It's 2,596,140 Florida concealed firearm licenses. 216,481 of them are out of state.
So, to correct myself, there are 2,379,659 license holders in Florida.
It's a lot of voters.

Re: I think I pissed off Fred Guttenberg
My only concern about constitutional carry is that it might reduce the number of concealed weapons permits. 2 million permits is a lot of voters, and it's pretty hard for our state legislators and leaders to ignore that. That said, I still support constitutional carry. Open carry? There are a few pe...

Re: Cop Shoots UNARMED 17-Year-Old While Eating A Burger
Even in criminal court, they don't just hand out public defenders. A single person would have to make less than $25760/year to qualify. At 40 hours a week, that's less than $12.39 an hour. Considering the average 1 br apartment is $21K/year in Florida, that's a homeless guy. And the homeless guy wou...

Re: Cop Shoots UNARMED 17-Year-Old While Eating A Burger
It's almost impossible for the cop to face a civil lawsuit. The department will pay up, and the taxpayers will foot the bill. In practice, qualified immunity is almost absolute immunity. Besides, who has the money to actually pay out? An unemployable former cop getting out of prison? Or a local gove...
