Official COVID-19 music video thread

In difficult times, music and humor are essential to relieving tension and giving us an excuse to feel "normal" for a while, and are also an effective means of reinforcing a serious message but without all the doom and gloom. Some very creative people are already putting some good songs out there, s...

Conronavirus kicks Obama's ass . . .

. . . at increasing gun sales, that is. The Florida Department of Law Enforcement’s (FDLE) Firearm Purchase Program processed more than 53,000 transactions since Friday, March 13, including 11,645 transactions on March 19, an all-time single-day record and a 430% increase over the average for that T...

Re: Idea for social isolation

Idea for social isolation: Tell people to shop for essentials only on odd or even days, according to their home address, e.g. 1002 Main St on even days. This could reduce store crowds 50% and costs nothing. I realize many FSN guys are grumpy old farts that criticize everything and are already very ...

Re: Dick’s eliminating firearms in half its stores

Yesterday, Barron’s reported that Dick’s was eliminating firearms sales in half its stores . . .

Milwaukee Brewery shooter apparently used a suppressor.

I was listening to the news on my drive to work this morning, and heard for the first time that the Molson Coors Brewery shooter used a suppressed pistol in his attack on former co-workers yesterday. Did a quick search, and only found mention of that fact in a USA Today update from this morning: htt...

Re: Price check on savage 30 rolling block

These types of rifles were very popular in the early 1900s, and several companies made inexpensive single shots that worked on similar principles. They were mostly falling block actions, meaning the breech block drops down vertically as the lever is activated to expose the chamber, as opposed to a t...

Re: Price check on savage 30 rolling block

The Savage 30 is a modern reproduction of the Stevens Favorite and similar single shot falling block boys rifles of the early 20th Century. They're no longer made, but I think $350 is way out of line for that rifle, when you can buy an original with some real history for less than that. I don't know...

Re: Anyone else like cigar box guitars?

Thanks - I've got everything for the first one except the fret wire, and it'll be here Friday. I'm not expecting a Stratocaster - just hoping for something that makes noises vaguely resembling music. The main purpose is an interesting way to hold my son's attention long enough to teach him a little ...

Anyone else like cigar box guitars?

Five weeks ago, I didn't know these existed. Friend of ours retired and bought one to play around with in his newfound spare time. Now I'm fired up to make one with my son - and I don't even play guitar. Yet.
