Who says Don't Bring a Knife to a Gun Fight?

Postby madman » Mon Dec 19, 2011 7:47 pm

I searched and couldn't see that this has been posted before. If it has I apologize.
This is a graphic video shot in Nicaragua. The BG has a large knife (Bowie?) and he ends up taking on five or six cops.
If you don't believe in the Tueller drill or you don't carry with one in the chamber, this may cause you to change your mind.
Again, it's graphic and NSFW

Way too many shots fired before he goes down...

That is madness.. and would never happen here.

I believe they use 9mm down there. It looks like they got him a few times in center mass, but he was still living when they hauled his ass away in the truck.
I think the police were way too comfortable with the way they are used to the "serfs" obeying their commands.... not so much, this go 'round.
How many did he stab, five of the six?

Taser w/some bean bag SG rounds would of worked early on. The first cop was way to close and distracted jumping over the fence to pick up whatever was tossed to him by the other cop. Knives are no joke. Looks like the first cop got it across the throat? Very bad situation all the way around.

In the days of the old west a 6 shooter was as common as cell phones are today and just annoying if they go off in a theater.

As soon as he swung the knife on the first officer he should have been taken out.

Yeah, the one guy circling around to the back picked up a tree branch lol. I counted 9 shots before they finally dropped him. Not sure what the extra 3 shots a little later were for, probably trying to make sure he stayed down lol.

The made me laugh from the article:

The fact is that someone mildly efficient with a knife will shred you to fajitas before you have the chance of retrieve your uber tactical HK USP with nuclear tipped .45 caliber rounds out off your titanium reinforced BlackHawk Tactical Kydex Thigh Holster as used by the Seal Teams according to what you read in the interwebs last week.

What a bunch of idiots. I would have emptied my mag and reloaded if he even showed me a knife.

Definitely wouldn't happen like that here. Here they'll shoot ya even if you're not armed and then plant the weapon on ya after [smilie=011.gif]

One of the officers had an AK it looked like. I'm wondering why he didn't just shoot the guy with the knife and there would be no further blood shed. #-o

Gun at ready, sure... but 18 shots for showing a knife? (assuming G17) Really?

I totally dig their ambulances! Simple and effective! I bet alot less people would abuse the 911 system if they knew a pick up truck with a siren was going to be their ride to the er [smilie=011.gif]

BGs with guns don't scare me nearly as much as a BG with a knife. It's a bit more difficult to successfully take someone out with a pistol than to seriously F@*k someone up with a knife I think.

Rule 1 of a knife fight: You're gonna get cut.
Rule 2: If you don't want to get cut, shoot the bastard before he can get close enough to cut you.

Good example of the fact that bad guys don't go down just because you shoot them. A better example of the quick and decisive damages knife is capable of.

Always bring down a clean (wiped down) knife.

Makes an excellent throw down weapon. [smilie=pdt_xtremez_30.gif]

This is why you don't surround the suspect from all sides. Crossfire is a bitch.

This should have been over with before the 4 min mark.... long before the guy with the AK got sliced open.
