who has ordered tires online ?

Postby neonnight34609 » Mon Feb 20, 2012 4:34 pm

i am lookin at ordering 2 tires on line to match the 2 i bought a few months ago. it seem at the local dealer has stopped selling the fuzion brand tire (225/60-16 FUZION FUZION HRi ) . tirerack.com does not have them in stock so what other company's are credible ? found them at onlinetires.com for a good price but i have also read all the horror stories/reviews this company has and i am not so sure i wanna risk it.. any input would help

Fuzions are no longer being made

EDT sorry i was a little quick on the submit there .... Firestone did away with the fuzion brand so it will only become harder to find them, best bet is to buy them where ever you can find them on a credit card in case you have any issues, also call to verify they actually have them in stock first

#-o see what happens when i try to remember conversations from 4 months ago. I need to take notes when talking to people over beers @ SEMA

Double checked real quick and they discontinued all the -i models and now have Fuzion SUV, UHP and Touring which are all "new" designs

Sadly their are only 10 HR-i's left in the warehouses in FL (none of them 225/60/60)

:ber that makes sense. well i dont have to stick with this kinda tire i was just hoping to have 4 matching tires even know at of right now i dont... i am kinda out of the loop when it comes to tires and brands i am a med heavy truck mechanic.. i know asking 10 people i will get 11 different answers lol BUT in your honest opinion would you just go with another brand if tire? reason why i chose this tire was because of price and this being a second car that doesn't see that many miles

i just looked there it looks like the FALKEN tire has the same wear, traction, and speed rating. although the tread is a little different it looks like this might be the way to go and they look like a reputable company with free shipping there 30 buxs cheaper [smilie=pdt_xtremez_30.gif]

Email this guy for a quote. He might knock a few bucks off the internet price or throw in road hazard for cheap. He usually takes car of me, but I usually buy 4 at a time.

I've ordered from both tirerack.com and discounttiredirect.com without a hitch. Although discounttiredirect.com I think has a better road hazard policy IMO.

Discount tire. I actually just got a pair last week.

Normally I stick with Tire Rack though.

I bought tires and wheels from discounttire.com. Worked out fine. About $1,000. worth.

The Tire Rack is hard to compete with they have great prices. Tire easy got my money too, no problems with them either. You could try a local shop with a hazard warranty. Less hassle if local. Hate to say it, try wally mart they have some great deals and the super centers are open 7 days a week.

road hazard is really not an issue for me since i can mount, balance, and patch my own tires. i guess it would be good if i totally fubared the tire. locally they want over 130 buxs a tire will all the fees. on discount tire they are 80 with free shipping. i think this is the route i am gonna take. seems like tires and batteries have went though the roof recently or maybe its just because i haven't bought any in a while :-k

Every time I needed tires, I would shop at TireRack.com or DiscountTire.com and see what is available and what the rating are, and read the reviews. That is invaluable.

However, when I called my local Discount Tire store, the OTD price has either frequently been less than the online total price, or the same when you add in the cost of mounting. The hassle does not seem to be worth it to me. Maybe it was just the sizes I needed...

If the local shop knows you are price shopping online, they cut you a better deal then they normally would. That way they still have a chance of making the sale. In the long run its a win win situation for both.

they will cut you a better deal in hopes that you are going to have them mounted balanced and maybe buy the warranty.. when you tell them CARRY OUT their tune changes because they know your not gonna buy their money making goodies so the price usually changes AGAIN ;) . this is why i just wanna order them on line and not listen to the "sales man" . if you read a lot of sales on tire that are in the paper you will see in small print "no carry outs" ](*,)
