the wiring on the left is for a light switch. I want to replace it with smart switch that requires a natural. Following the black wire back I see where a white wire is coming down then going over the cluster of white tied together. I am assuming I can tie into the tied together white wire to get my neutral.

You need to make a pigtail attached to the splice with the whites and land it on the switch.

WAGO for the win i love them and will never use wire nuts again. if you buy them in bulk they are like .10 a peace.

If I used that the switch would not fit. It's a 2 switch box not much room may have to forget it.
