Long Long overdue update. (I was on leave when I made the post and since then Ive ETS'ed home and now Im finally set up)

I figured out the problem, the "check mate" mags I bought where not check mate mags. After closer inspection I got hosed on some mags of lesser quality, and Im selling them as parts before I give up and throw them in the scrap heap. See add, viewtopic.php?f=10&t=119450

I bought a Thermold 20 rounder, it worked very very well but the price hurts my waller sadly.

Thank you for your help guys.

don't buy gun show mgs unless you know what you are doing. Go to 44mag.com buy from them. Brownells makes good mags too. NHMTG are my favorite GI mags, but Okay is GTG, as well as COLT(NHMTG) etc-

any of these are good to go- http://www.44mag.com/category/223_ar15_magazines

There are some newer m14 mags on the market, but the REAL Checkmates seem to be true USGI Spc'd, why mess around?
In a wet climate, molded ones will be better.

But unless you're humping out on the swamps out on a boat or beach, I'd stick with what's worked all along.
