Stripped Colt Lower? I didn't think I'd live long enough.

It seems that now that Colt has lost some of its' .gov money and is back in the civilian market they are offering stripped lowers to the unwashed masses. My next M4gery could actually be authentic.

I'm waiting on 2 uppers , one in 9 mm , been a long wait, but they are ordered from the factory rep [-o<
In the days of the old west a 6 shooter was as common as cell phones are today and just annoying if they go off in a theater.

I am with Scott, 250 is to steep, that will get you almost 3 Spikes lowers.

They just had an article in The American Rifleman where the president of Colt said that as of last year they began making an effort to get back into the civilian market. I guess you are reaping some of that effort.

First off, I'm not paying retail, ( a buddy got me a fist level price ) the price I got was just about $125 for the .223 and a little higher on the 9 mm, as far as Palmetto, forget that, Spikes anything is about as low quality as I go in the AR world, buy those cheap POS receivers if you want. I'm not , see u at resale time with your $49 lower....lol

A machined hunk of aluminum brings out such brand loyalty. It could have a picture of strawberry shortcake on it and if everything fits ok why does it matter? Not paying $250 for a hunk of recycled beer cans with holes.

as expected Colts still clueless, and unless they do an inordinate amount of ass kissing to us mere peons I wont own a Colt anything. I remeber all their BS over the years, f*%! 'em I have other companies id rather do business with

I'd expect the price to drop considerably if they seriously want to enter the civilian market again.

The only reason to buy colt is for the quality in the minutia, little, if any is in the lower receiver. The PSA lower will be of equal quality, but not undergo as stringent of a quality control check. For the money, buy 5 PSA lowers and pick the nicest one.

Yea it is only when it is completely built by Colt the dancing pony! But I likely wouldn't pass one up at a C-note +/-, that said guaranteed they will have a special serial number or something to desiginate a bare bones lower.

Rent 9mm uppers should be shipping mid dec.
I have a colt 901 that takes 308 and 223 upper coming in mid dec also. They have a lot hitting the market for 2012 ( I saw most of it last week) Lots of things with better prices and they are selling some that have magpul or troy items on them but Colt is still very apprehensive about selling the lowers that wern't built completely by them. Their new stock styled items are going to come with new buttstocks on carbines, not the m4 style but one more like a ctr or vltor styled stock.

Everyone knows that Colt lowers are manufactured from Unobtanium. This is what justifies the much greater market value. [smilie=011.gif]

How low should we expect stripped Colt lowers to go? $250 is steep.

$250 for a stripped lower? Colt still believes their excrement has no odor. [smilie=cheers1.gif]

If no one buys them at $250 they will come down automatically, really just a matter of time.
