Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich’s lady luck has run out in Florida, according to exit polls.

Gingrich, who won the women’s vote in South Carolina earlier this month, lost the female vote Tuesday night to former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney by a 22 percentage point margin. Romney also won men, but by a much smaller 5-point margin.

According to exit polls by Fox News, females accounted for 49 percent of the vote, males made up 51 percent.

Among women, Texas Rep. Ron Paul won six percent, Gingrich won 29 percent, Romney won 51 percent and former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum 13 percent.

Among men, Paul won 9 percent, Gingrich won 36 percent, Romney won 41 percent, and Santorum received 12 percent of the vote.

Married women, who made up 33 percent of the electorate, also came out in droves for Romney. Among married women, six percent voted for Paul, 28 percent came out for the thrice-married Gingrich, 51 percent voted Romney and Santorum got 13 percent.

Married men, 40 percent of voters, were more evenly dived between Romney and Gingrich. Nine percent voted Paul, Gingrich got 35 percent, Romney won 37 percent and Santorum pulled in 14 percent.

I'm truly surprised anybody votes for Gingrich. What's the appeal?

Newt's appeal is that he's not a Moderate Mormon from a Liberal, Democratic State who was a pro-choice guy until he became a pro-life guy, after he signed an "assault weapons ban", Romney Care, and ran a nasty attack campaign.

Oh, and apparently Ron Paul's the crazy one.

I am apt to agree w/ you here. With the exception of a vote for Ron Paul (as a vote for RP is just that, a vote for RP), a vote for anyone else is a vote for anyone BUT Mitt Romney right now.

I rest my case.

My mommy, 50 something and married for 30 years said she wouldn't hold her nose to for Newt if he won the republican candidacy due to what the article above stated. She voted for Santorum, because of his family values. My Dad voted for Newt because he's the smartest.

haha - Just saw this. Newt is not appealing either. Looks lazy and slobbish.

FYI - If you are running for anything - polish youself up first! Women will choose the more put together candidate
every time!

Droves of women voted for Obama over McCain.... go figure. Nice Appearance is a sign of great vigor.
Which is just a small quality we want in a leader.
