News of the army's decision is reportedly being kept from the rifle's designer
that news would probably kill ole Mikhail
the system isn't broken , don't try and fix it
In the days of the old west a 6 shooter was as common as cell phones are today and just annoying if they go off in a theater.

Exactly. It's like reinventing the wheel. WTF? I'm totally content with Mikhail Kalashnikov's design. If I were allowed only one rifle on earth to own on a budget I would definitely choose my Kalishnikov AK-47. Rugged and reliable, easy to use, easy to clean, just all around great rifle.

Yes,but not only Saiga's. They make a plethora of weapons ranging from bolt actions to guided projectiles and things in between.

The Army has wanted the AN-94 for some time, but the cost of refitting even their active unit's has been prohibitive. Perhaps the economic situation has changed?

I have always thought that the higher prices on the Saigas were from the American dealers because of well...whatever the reason, you chose.
But I recently spoke to a guy who bought and sold lots of them at the orginal price. He said that the Russians were they ones who jacked the price up on him. Raised the price over $200 a rifle becaue they said that they were getting popular in europe too.
I still blame the American salesmen, but hey, they want to make as much as they can, but now the rooskies added to it
It would be awesome if the price starts coming down.
