Our fathers handed us a country built upon the predication that equality is self-evident. We are their children and if equality is self-evident, we owe them the absolute respect to discover the answer(s) to the question(s) they left us.

I've always wondered why "progressive" has a negative connotation amongst the GOP. Since when is progress negative? :-k

After the bolshevics revolted in Russia, socialists stopped calling themselves such and adopted progressive. Being a progressive now isn't limited to socialism. The right can be progressives as well by adopting big government policies, enhanced nanny state policies, and any other thing that progressively take away from others, and view the Constitution as a living document, subject to interpretation.

why the word progressive is a bad term....

-big government social engineering abroad in the form of foreign interventionism, regime change when it benefits businessmen, and invading countries that have posed no threat to us
-big government social engineering at home in the form of (1) Prohibition of marijuana and alcohol, (2) castration of the poor, sick, or criminally oriented, (3) "regulation" of the economy through the Federal Reserve (4), (5) through eugenics, which the Nazis took their lead from American social darwinist, (6) experimenting on the poor and minorities, (6) the sacrifice of individual rights at the alter of the betterment of the collective through welfare, the income tax, and other statist programs.

all of these policies and ideas progressives championed, and you can tell where the "conservative Republicans" get some of their values, which are contemporary late 19th and early 20th century innovations

I see 5 big government Obongo clones and the one sane man in the asylum.
For Romney or Gingrich or Santorum, I'd rather leave the current criminal in the White House.
Without the nomination of Ron Paul, I'll just as soon consider the presidency lost and concentrate on taking control in both houses.

Getting back to the OP's original comment "delegate tracker",
I saw Karl Rove on Fox last night and he reminded us that after
South Carolina, only 1.4% of the delegates will have been allocated.

The even bigger question is conservatism amoungst Dems, the key word "conserve" has even more positive connotations.
Harry Callahan: Well, we're not just gonna let you walk out of here.
Crook: Who'se we sucka?
Harry Callahan: Smith and Wesson... and me.

Ron Paul can still have quite a lot of influence with the number of delegates he has for wheeling and dealing.
