That's like people who refer to cartridges as bullets.

Or shows/movies that imply that the entire cartridge is fired out the barrel.

I actually saw an animated video on a cartridge being fired and the entire cartridge went out the barrel, whole.
Wonder what kind of gun that was.
Hilariously stupid.

Gun verus pistol versus revolver, versus rifle, versus shotgun . . . the world is full of incorrect terms. What's the difference as long as everybody understands?

I care and do my best to educate those around me that misuse the terms. If one is a supposed "gun nut" like most of us here and misuses simple terms like that, it tends to make me question anything else they say about firearms. Elitist of me? Perhaps, but it usually proves itself out.

Because all your examples fire projectiles and are thus firearms, whereas mags feed the firearm, but clips feed the mag

I guess some people care [smilie=011.gif] or we wouldn't have a discussion about it. A lot of us are here to broaden our knowledge of weapons. What good is that if we're being fed incorrect info???

Good info. with all the people on here that jump all over newbies who refer to a magazine as a clip, you would think more people would comment.

Unless it was one of these it was a pretty dumb animation: https://secure.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/wiki/Gyrojet
But I have seen stuff like that too.
