No manual that I can find.

Coastal still has yet to respond to my email(s). [smilie=011.gif]

If the alignment is incorrect if I am understanding this correctly -- damage will not be done to the suppressor -- instead performance may be reduced?

Once again to confirm we are talking about these,

Presently -- when I reassembled I attempted to drop them all in (rather slide) so they all line perfectly up.

Correct. No damage, just may not be as quiet.

Not talking about those indicated in that pic, talking about these divots:

.... ya big dummy doo doo head.

And as PCJim says they're most likely offset by 90° to the one inserted previously.

Port/vent alignment is one reason why so many manufacturers have gone to a one-piece baffle stack, particularly on a user-disassemblable can. The only downside is that one-piece stacks require more expensive manufacturing gear. At the very least, the baffles should use post-and-groove stacking to keep them properly oriented (and most do so).

Coastal Passport Initial Impressions:

I haven't been to the range yet so I haven't had a chance to a considerable amount downrange however here is what I have so far.

First test:

Standard velocity (federal bulk pack).
White lithium grease.
Port / vent alignment ninety degrees.

First round was VERY impressive -- I was expecting a noticeable first shot pop but it was extremely pleasant.

However much to my surprise the second round sounded considerably louder -- almost like a small firecracker going off. Which was quite discouraging and I wrapped it up for the night.

Second test:

Subsonic (CCI).
Water.
Port / vent alignment ninety degrees.

Four shots -- not a noticeable difference in each all fairly pleasant. Sounded like a loud staple gun.

White lithium grease was then applied.

Four more shots -- all seemed a lot louder when compared to water.

Third test:

Subsonic (CCI).
Water.
Port / vent alignment one hundred and eighty degrees.

Perhaps a slight bit louder than ninety degrees.

After using water all the baffles and the tube was cleaned out with some CLP.

I would rather not use water as I have been told it is harmful with aluminum however compared to the grease it seems to be more effective. Perhaps is this because I might not be using enough?

Despite that during the test there was some splatter from the grease on the target.

Regarding the bulk pack and the first test -- the second shot (which was considerably louder) I managed to pull the projectile and it penetrated about one half inch further than the first. Which left me wondering if the increase in decibels might have been due to inconsistency in the cartridges?

The verdict is still out on the passport -- initial testing was indoors and I was getting a lot of sound bouncing off objects and impact from the target.

In the end I figure if it is comfortable to shoot dry then I will be pleased.

For I will probably eventually end up looking in to another twenty two suppressor anyway -- perhaps the sparrow.

Next test session will probably be scheduled for tomorrow early evening.

I'm going to try and set the target (bullet trap) back a little further.

For the prior tests it was only approximately two feet away.

Perhaps some of the crack and smack was the bullet impact noise?

With the target further away perhaps it might sound different?

I'll try and get some video.

I just need to be careful for a miss could be bad and my target is not that wide. [smilie=011.gif]
