scope question / recommendation

Postby neverenoughguns » Wed Jul 28, 2010 10:46 pm

I am thinking about getting a scope for a newly aquired Bulgarian (still trying to figure out if it is a US barrel) AK74 type firearm. I am thinking about putting a 3 or 4 power POSP type scope on the rifle. Anything I should look out for and avoid, something to look for or any good deals out there?

is it a "triangle side folder" or regular stock? I've found out POSP scopes are pretty tough to use on the "triangle side folder" stocks because of the height and eye relief, but that's just my opinion.

Regular stock and it happens to have the "plate" on the left side of the receiver for mounting a scope.

POSP is the way to go when it comes to optics. Or, for realistic distances, you could get a Kobra dot, Russian Eotech. Crude, reliable, and fits the general outlook of the rifle.
Max.

Is there just one "kobra" or are there knock offs that I need to avoid?

There are a few. Kalinka Optics usually has a good number of pics. I'm posting off a phone, can't do URL, but if you google "Kalinka Optics," you will come up with it. Their prices are a bit high, but things can always be found cheaper elsewhere.
