I've found an SKS I like and I've been looking at them for a few months. It's a Norinco and takes AK Magazines.
1) How do I tell if it was an AK Mag conversion or if it was manufactured that way originally?
2) If it's not a conversion, does that make this rifle a type D or type M? It does not have a thumbhole stock. It does have a bayonet.
Before I get this thing what should I look for?
It's expensive and I like it, but I don't want to get ripped off. I know the prices went up there for a while.
Thanks....

, I have taken pics and posted to SKS boards while sitting in the parking lot of the gun show, trying to make a decision to grab a certain gun based on an arsenal code or pass.....no gun shop has ever questioned it.....I found a rare Chinese SKS marked " Six Corps " once, no one on SKS boards had ever heard of it, I went back and bought it and found out that only a few of them were ever imported
