My newest garand Pics

Postby flashooter22 » Sun Nov 06, 2011 11:25 am

Here is the HRA M1 garand I picked up at the south store a couple weeks ago. Cleaned the stock up a little, had to exchange the rear sight base because the original one had a bad crack that I didnt notice until I got it home. The reason I bought it was the large amount of HRA parts including the stock, barrel, trigger group, op rod, gas plug and lock. The only major non HRA part was the very early Springfield bolt, however I have a HRA bolt that will be going in soon. Has a little bit of been there/done that character and the front handgaurd has a few arsenal repairs but it actually guaged a "2" on both ends and When I did a little test fire at 50 yards it cloverleafed them! My M1 cutdown AFH bayo is also pictured.

This was a field grade. There was not any IHCs.

pretty nice for a field grade
just got a correct grade and it gauges better than correct
steamed the dents out of the stock
it looks like a new gun
shoots real well too
almost as good as my criterion barrel gun
re oiled with linseed beeswax and carnauba mix
if you decide to do that dont sand the cartouches if your stock has them or any stamped numbers
have you gotten all the cosmoline out of it?
