My new scope rail on AK74

Postby ger42 » Tue May 10, 2011 5:43 pm

DOG LEG SCOPE RAIL / GEN-2 I installed this today on my Bulgarian kit built AK74.
Went on fairly easily.

Don't know why I spent good money on the rear peep sight because I'd have to take the C-Mores sight off to use it.
Now I have to go the the range.

I used the rear sight spring which I feel makes it more solid than if I didn't. Solid on the rifle I'll let you know after I fire it. I won't get to the range till next week.

Looks pretty solid and looks like it should hold zero.

They are good to go. Gabe has been running one on an 12.5" AK74 for several months and probably has in excess of 8K through it with the dog leg installed along with an TA33 ACOG; he was making hits on a 500 yard IPSC steel last month.

That looks like a VERY nice rail!

I’ve been looking at and thinking about getting some kind of rail setup for my Yugo underfolder. There’s one I’ve been looking at, however it looks like I’d need some gunsmithing and might go through a couple of Dremil cutting wheels to modify it to my underfolder. Still it looks like a sold adaptable system.

TWS should have Dog Leg rails for the Yugo shortly. They just started production today.

How do you clean the gun? It looks like you have to remove the mount to disassemble your gun.

Dave

Pictures eliminate me having to type. I have not even shot it with the rail on.
