Hello everyone. I am interested in cowboy shooting, but is confined to a wheel chair. I was recently injured in the military and was medically retired. Does anyone have suggestions where I can go to shoot and possibly compete?

First - thank you for your service, sir. /:f God Bless ya!

Second - welcome to the show.

If you're near Titusville and you like indoor shooting, the Police Hall of Fame is second to none. Mrs Onree and I will be making a trip over there soon.
There is an undeniable cultural difference. It's the difference in the mindset of those who believe they are owed a living, and those who believe success is the result of hard work.

Thanks. It was an honor to serve. I do a lot of shooting at the indoor range on Sarno Rd, but Sometimes go to the indoor range in Sebastian. I am thinking about joining the Gun club here in Melbourne because I do a lot of shooting and load my own rounds. Plus my rifles are collecting dust from not being fired. I've gone to the public range in Sebastain, but it is always crowded. Any good rifle ranges in your area?

Welcome, and thanks for your service and sacrifice.
Guaranteed that if you show up for any competition, you will be welcomed with open arms.
And any assistance that you require will be there times 10.
If it's a running game, like cowboy style, folks will no doubt be willing to take turns rolling your chair as fast as you want to go.
You might even need a seat belt.
But seriously, there are other folks competing in chairs.
They attach the holsters to the sides and the long guns are carried like on horseback.
Take a look at the cowboy web sites for the locaations and contacts for the matches.
Like the Single Action Shooting Society, for starters.

Hope this helps some.

That's what I was qurious about. I will check out the site and get ideas on securing my guns to my chair. Thank you for the information. Is there anyway I can contact you if I have further questions?

Oooh! I got an idea! Ya know how those cowboy guys like to play dress-up ahem.. I mean theming. (Sorry, couldn't resist. [smilie=011.gif] ) How much fun would it be to do your chair up like a stagecoach or buckboard or something? And yes, I'm serious. I think that'd be hillariously cool.

As for ranges I can't help ya much. The only one I know on that side of the state is Port Malabar, but the few times I've been there they were quite nice and it's a great facility. Good luck with your search and keep us posted with what you find, I'm sure at some point there will be others with similar questions. :ber
