Do I Need A New Spring?

Postby crosshair » Mon Jul 04, 2011 11:21 pm

Was shooting off a few rounds for the 4th with my Romy sidefolder, and had a few misfires. The primers had light hits, while the spent cartridges had hard hits. I reloaded the misfires and they went bang.

What spring are you talking about? First thing I'd do is make sure the firing pin channel is clean and that the FP moves freely. It's not hard to remove the pin.

I was referring to the hammer spring. Pin moves freely.

We're the rounds properly seating? Was the bolt fully forward?

Take teh dust cover off, take out the bolt carrier, and feel the resistance on the hammer spring.

We were shooting in dark conditions so I really couldn't tell. I just ejected the misfire and moved on. The spring has decent tension. I think your right abount the rounds not seating properly but unknown as to why.
