I saw this and ordered one today, figured it's a gamble, it should work fine on an AK, but do you guys think it will hold up to the pounding on a Saiga 12

In the days of the old west a 6 shooter was as common as cell phones are today and just annoying if they go off in a theater.

Does the whole assembly flip up like the factory sight?

i think there are some set screws that keep it from flipping up.

I have the MI Front handguards for the H1/T1. Let me know how you like the PA Mini Dot. May get one for my romanian.

I posting this here cause you guys asked, the mount has some serious issues, not sure if I got a bad one or they are all like this, the mount is 2 pieces joined by a dovetail, there is so much play in the dovetail the rear most part that holds the red dot sight freely moves side to side. I 'm gonna E-mail primary arms tonight and see if its is their problem or Midwest Industries problem because it's their mount, but sold by PA. I have posted a video below, the mount arrived today and installed it as per the directions on the package, I might have been excited and did not notice any excessive play between the 2 halves as I installed it or the gap in the dovetail may have opened up while shooting, for the record I mounted this on my Yugo AK. I noticed it after about 8-10 rounds and stopped shooting.

I thought there would be a set screw that locks the dovetail in place, once you've made a windage adjustment (to allow for front sight cant, etc.) - are you saying there's NOTHING to lock it in place laterally? That's just amazing - usually, MI & PA both sell pretty decent stuff, for their price point. That's almost NCStar-like quality, there.

I'm anxious to see what they say.

That's a windage adjustment...for 400 MOA adjustment to the left or right.

there is a set screw that was tightened prior to installing the RDS, it loosens up during shooting and there is no way to get the allen key in there to adjust once you get the RDS mounted on the mount ](*,) ](*,) , you would have to remove the RDS to tighten the mount at the dovetail, its kinda neat , but at the same time a bad design.....it really should be fixed in place and make windage adjustments on the sight itself

I got a reply from the CEO of PA tonight, he gonna have the guys at the shop contact MI tomorrow , maybe I just got a bad one with a lot of play in the dovetail :-k , but it shouldn't loosen up after just a few shots....and then you have to remove the sight to re tighten......no way [-(

In all fairness I did not get a chance to test/review the PA micro cause the mount issue, I might drop that on another gun, but I wanted to see how it held zero being on a 30 cal....I'd love to see if it could stand up to the Saiga 12, but don't feel like wasting the $$ if it doesn't

Locktite?

Saw off most of the key so it fits?

My 2c: I used $30 Ebay red dot sights on my AK54 that kicks more than the Saiga (with most ammo), they held up just fine and kept zero. I'm guessing the mini _should_ be fine too. The only time I've seen a red dot fail due to recoil was a Belorussian PK-A, but as I got it used I think it just came with a stripped screw that popped out from the kick.

Best wishes,
Daniel

Ive bought a few things from Primary Arms and have dealt with Marshal directly before due to a slight issue. One thing i can say for sure is he will give his all to make things right.

They did, their customer service was excellent, he was out of the office when I sent the " contact US " e-mail from the website, never knew it went to him directly, he was on vacation and forwarded my mail to the guys at the office who provided contact info for MI the very next morning, I'm still waiting for MI to get back to me ](*,) ](*,) #-o

I have read where guys have drilled a small divot to accept the nub of the set screw, I'm thinking of going this way with some red locktite, rather than wait for a replacement that possibly is the same......the design should change allowing for the placement of the RDS to be moved rearward slighly
