Marlin XS7, Any experience

Postby HES » Tue Sep 28, 2010 10:05 am

I am going crazy trying to find a youth model in .243 that does not weigh a ton for my 10 year old. I have heard that the XS7 may just be the ticket. Does anyone have any experience with them?

I have 2 Marlin bolt actions... 1 is a xl7 in .270, the other is a xs7 in .308. Both are tackdrivers, well under 1moa... they are very smooth operating, well made in the US... to me the downside of each is lack of a magazine or clip to load/unload but one has to get used to that ..(working the bolt to unload it) I like mine, never had to touch the triggers on either. Good luck.. Bob

I wish you had posted this a week ago. I just traded off a Remington Model 7 in .243 with the 18.5" barrel. Those are perfect kid guns and they only weigh about 6.5lbs.
