I figure I'll stamp it when I have some extra cash. But until then the goofy muzzle device will have to stay.
It would be nice to have that Russian PBS-5 dummy suppressor pinned and soldered on. Looks nicer IMHO.

Quest,
Acting like an idiot does not help our shooting community. There are people here that are interested in learning about NFA and Title II firearms. Acting the fool only confuses and clouds the knowledge people seek. Trolling a thread is all in good fun, most of us enjoy reading through it all, I know I do. But please for the sake of the "New to firearms" people at least acknowledge one way or another whether any said facts or opinions are true or false, right or wrong.

So here it is, to the best of my knowledge and subject to scrutiny a few facts.
In regards to the AK type pistol
If you want to add a stock, and not create a "short barrel rifle", you must have a barrel length of 16" minimum .
A 16" barrel can be achieved by adding a muzzle device of sufficient length. It must be blind pinned and high temp soldered in place . This is per the ATFE .
I feel it would be best for the owners of these pistols, if they so choose to change a muzzle device of the same length, have a licensed dealer and Smith make the change. I would like to know if the ATFE makes an allowance for people to change it themselves without directly making an SBR. Doubtful though . Thats why I had my local guy do the finishing work, so I was sure I wouldn't have problems down the road.

I dont think soldering is sufficient enough but another member might chime in on this. A knowledgeable gunsmith would throw a tack weld or two on the extension. Show us pics of what you have as far as the pinning goes....

Blind pin with a spot of weld over it, or high-temp silver solder are accepted ethods for permanently attaching a mmuzzle device. Also, as long as it's done in the proper order (brake/extension first), there should be no legality issues with him doing the pistol to rifle conversion himself.

Quest, I don't understand why you seem to have such a hard-on for Casual. It's not like he's killerone or anything. :ber
