So, I need a permit to exercise a "right"? Interesting.....
Maybe " The Permission to carry Act" would be more factual?

It's a "Shall Issue" concealed carry permit. If they have to give it to you is it "permission"?
I swear by Jupiter Optimus Maximus .... in the army of the consul Lucius Quinctius Cincinnatus and for 10 miles around it I will not steal anything worth more than a sestertius in any one day.

If I cant stick a pistol in my pocket and leave my property without a piece of paper issued by the government then its permission.
Let me refresh your memory....."Amendment II

A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed."

No mention of permits, shall issue or otherwise.

infringe---in·fringe   [in-frinj] Show IPA verb, -fringed, -fring·ing.
verb (used with object)
1.
to commit a breach or infraction of; violate or transgress: to infringe a copyright; to infringe a rule.
verb (used without object)
2.
to encroach or trespass (usually followed by on or upon): Don't infringe on his privacy.

"No state shall convert a liberty to a privilege, license it, and charge a fee therefor.- Murdock vs Pennsylvania 319 US 105"

"...If the state converts a right into a privelege, the citizen can ignore the license and fee and engage in the right... with impunity.
- Shuttleworth vs City of Birmingham, Alabama 317 US 262"

"Where rights secured by the Constitution are involved, there can be no legislation which would abrogate them.
- Miranda vs Arizona 384 US 436"

I don't like it. The Federal government needs to either make the states- all of them- stop infringing on our constitutional right to bear arms, or stay out of it. Anything that has the feds telling states WHICH and How to infringe on that right is a lousy idea. Once the precedent is established that the feds can tell the states to recognize permits you have established the power of the feds to tell the states to stop granting permits. No, no, no, no , NO! BAD idea!

I don't see where we're giving up any rights with this legislation. If anything it expands them. A precedent telling states to recognize permits would be a step in the right direction. The federal government already has established precedents to restrict Second Amendment rights- otherwise we wouldn't have the NFA or GCA.

I pray this goes through. I'm working out of state more than ever, and so far I've been able to stay in the Southeast, where the prevailing view is that we have a God-given right to firearms. I'm avoiding the Northeast like the Plague.
...and they think I'm compensating for something?
