So I've hit a snag with my CCW permit.... Ugh.

Ok, so a few years ago some sort of criminal "thing" showed up on my background check. The short version: The FBI said I missed a court date but no warrant was ever issued.

I did not commit any crimes, nor did I miss a court date. I still do not know how this crap even got put into my record. In fact, I had to go visit some Federal Agents to get it cleared up so that I could buy guns again. Since my meeting with them, I have been approved for many guns, several as recently as November/December.

Well the Department of Agriculture is requesting additional information on the situation, like a disposition or something. Basically paperwork saying I'm not in trouble. What the hell am I supposed to do? Can a Lawyer provide the necessary paperwork certifying I'm a citizen in good standing with no black marks on my record?

I just wanted to update everyone that helped me through this issue.

I ended up getting my permit on the 14th, it had an issue date of 3/6/2012 on it.

A few folks (mainly Attorneys) PM'd me on offering help and a direction to head, and it was good solid advice and really made my issue easier to fix. It was indeed a case of mistaken identity, and I would have run in circles without the help of my fellow FSN members.

SO, in short, thank you all very much, if you ever find yourselves in Melbourne the first and second round of whatever you drink will be on me. /:f

Congratulations and thanks for the update, many times I never catch the final outcome on these things.

[smilie=cheers1.gif] To all those who helped him out. That is awesome!

I thought we agreed to never talk about the goat thing ever again? [smilie=pdt_xtremez_13.gif]

Gotta love it when a government agency asks you to provide paperwork to prove that something didn't happen. ](*,) Glad you got it worked out.
