Hernando sportsman club not bad at all.

Went there last Friday to try out the Glock I had bought from a fellow member. It would fail to feed on every round. Talked to a very Glock informative and friendly range officer called Big Dave. He took a look then took the frame away came back and fired like a charm. He rapid fired around 4 mags no issues. Told me the slide stop spring was not fitted correctly and even gave me a magazine plug for it. Kudos to him. Just wanted to share my experience with this place.

In the days of the old west a 6 shooter was as common as cell phones are today and just annoying if they go off in a theater.

I have to chime in a say thanks to the guys at HSC. A couple of buddies and I went up yesterday to shoot on a recommendation from another friend at work and we had a great time. The first lady we spoke with when we got there ran the snack shop and she was as nice as she could be explaining about the club and upcoming events like the machine gun shoot. Then once at the range the ROs were very friendly and didn't hover making you nervous like they do at other ranges.
The rules were explained, which were not so strict as to keep you from having a good time like other places, and once the ROs gave you the run down that was it. I never saw an RO hover around acting like a "Range Nazi" like a lot of other places and all of the shooters there were very courteous and friendly. People were shooting and talking guns as if they were old firends it was great. Anyway, it was a drive and I hate the traffic from Clearwater up there, but it was worth it and I will be going back.
People sleep peaceably in their beds at night only because rough men stand ready to do violence on their behalf.

Next time take McMullen-Booth Road north past East Lake to SR 54, then over to the Suncoast Parkway. A bit further of a drive, but WAY less aggravating.

I wouldn't wish traveling on US 19 from Hernando to Clearwater on my worst enemy [smilie=011.gif]
