Help me decide on my next AK purchase

Postby ireman412 » Thu Oct 20, 2011 7:50 pm

I keep going back and forth on my next purchase. I only have $500 to spend and came down to the following 3.

1. Centerfire Bulgarian AK HiCap $399, need rework on receiver end because they have a block off plate. That's no problem.

2. Centerfire M10 AK $499, looks good does not need work and is not a century, but is a romanian and does not have the dimples.

3. Classic Arms Saiga AK $449 (already converted except for FSB, that is also not an issue)
About 1/4 down the page http://www.classicarms.us/semi-auto%20rifles.htm

They all come with chrome lined barrels. Give me a reason to buy, or not to buy one

I'd lean toward the Classic Arms Saiga - but I'd go for the $299, unconverted rifle and do the conversion myself. You've indicated the FSB on the converted model is not a problem, so I assume you have access to the needed tools & skills to finish out the rifle as you want it. For the $150 difference, you can probably do a full conversion and have a little ammo money left over.

Saiga for $300 and get a conversion kit for about $150.

Do it yourself.
The money will go into channels which will carry it, not to the most productive, but to the most corrupt. By the standards of our time, the man who has the least to offer is the man who wins.
