It's starting to look like a "brokered" convention.

All new candidates not ravaged by this idiotic primary.

It's going to get real interesting in Tampa

The only thing I can imagine that would cause me to vote for Obama would be Santorum winning the Republican nomination.

I loathe Santorum. I wouldn't vote for Obama over him, but I just wouldn't vote if he were to be the nominee.

I have a feeling that Dem crossovers are trying to sabotage the GOP's chances. Who the **** honestly cares about social issues when the economy is in the toilet?

Our fathers handed us a country built upon the predication that equality is self-evident. We are their children and if equality is self-evident, we owe them the absolute respect to discover the answer(s) to the question(s) they left us.

Of course the democrats are going to try to make this campaign about more than simply the economy and Obama's record. Any smart campaign would do so.

The problem is that the republicans are letting themselves be dragged into it.

well, i disagree.

philosophically, social issues and economic issues have the same origin: the sanctity and sovereignty of a person. the very same notion of freedom of contract and claim to the fruits of one's labor, based on the fact that a person has inalienable rights, and whose interference and interventions which causes misallocations of incentives, and therefore, repressive or depressive economic bubbles, also stems from the same problem of most social issues: the government is too big, has too much interference, and is probably wasting wealth trying to regulate non-criminal human behavior.

the same governent that can get an economy back on track in the long-run is also the same government that respects the right of an individual to be gay, or use drugs, or commit suicide, or anything else that doesn't infringe on another person's rights.

And you won't find me disagreeing with you. I care about social issues and, I'm guessing, like you I'd prefer maximal liberty and government non-intervention when it comes to those issues. But what I don't understand is the flurry of people voting for a man who pretty much takes marching orders from the Pope when it comes to his beliefs. Why would people vote for a man that advocates social repression in such strong terms? For instance, he proudly tells people that simple birth control methods like contraceptive pills are sinful and immoral. Really? People are voting for THIS guy?

I would think that the poor state of the economy and improving it would be the most important topics to the average independent and a majority of conservatives. So who are these Americans who are voting for a man who puts his archaic, discredited socially repressive ideals out front when most people care far more about things like jobs?

What is appealing about Rick Santorum? I would honestly like to know. If there are any Santorum supporters reading this, please tell me what you like about him and why you voted for him.

In the mean time, read this:

http://decoded.nationaljournal.com/2012/02/santorums-working-class-opport.php

The above article leads me to suspect that an unholy alliance of Dem saboteurs and anybody-but-Romney voters are unintentionally working in concert to destroy any realistic chance we have of getting Obama out of the White House.

I should note that my vote for Romney was and remains an anti-Obama vote, not necessarily a pro-Romney one.

Unfortunately I can't find any exit polls from Colorado, Missouri, and Minnesota.

Santorum just can't help himself. I almost hope the GOP nominates this ass, so it can get creamed at the polls and we can (finally?) douche these types away.

If Mitt can't even keep Santorum at bay, he will get his ass kicked by Obama. Obama has to be smiling about this. He knows neither one of these two d-bags can elevate themselves like he can. He knows Romney is a weak political player. He knows Santorum is just another stepping stone. The GOP establishment is throwing in the towel this year for some reason.
Doesn't matter to me one way or the other as there is only one of two candidates whose name I will write down.

The problem is the GOP keeps trying to get positive press. They are fools, the press will never give them positive spin.
