Don't let your stock play in traffic !

Postby ipscscott » Tue Sep 20, 2011 11:50 pm

aka "These HERA things aren't very durable, are they?".

So, I scored one of the HERA Glock stocks for cheap at the gun show this past weekend. I'm thinking the guy realized he wasn't supposed to be in possession of it and wanted to get rid of it before he got hisself in trouble.
Took it with me to the shop and while unloading, temporarily set it on the roof. There it remained.... for a bit.

Note to self: remove objects from the roof of vehicle BEFORE driving out into traffic, especially on a busy 50mph roadway. #-o

Well, I did wonder how they came apart. Apparently they also don't bounce very well (or rather, they don't stay intact when they bounce). Hmm..... I wonder if they'll warranty it against traffic damage? :-k

And if that doesn't work they ship it to themselves with full insurance.

Oooph!! I've lusted after one of those for a while. Hey, stick your Glock in it and post a pic so that we can all see how cool it would have looked if you hadn't dorked it all up! [smilie=011.gif] [smilie=cheers1.gif]
If your not back in 3 weeks, we're dividing up your gear. It sucks, but thats the way it works around here.

"It's only a flesh wound"

Maybe you can find someone with a blown up glock and say the gun explosion killed it and you will both be covered by threatening a lawsuit. [smilie=011.gif]

Tell the manufacturer to start making them out of wood, instead of plastic.
I did the same thing with a wooden recurve bow.
It bounced off the asphalt real nice, and suffered not a whit of damage.
I'm still using it, even.

Harbor freight sells plastic welding rods, ABS,PVC, and something else. Could try welding it back together, they sell plastic welders.

totally Plan A.

Plan B is to try to repair/rebuild it myself. I'm pretty handy with stuff like that, but this is gonna be a tough one.

still sitting in pieces in a bin. I wasn't been able to figure out who to call at the time and mostly just let it get pushed to the side.
