Cutting down AR barrel

Postby Hannadog » Sun Dec 11, 2011 10:06 pm

Anyone every cut down an AR barrel then re-threaded the muzzle for the flash hider? I have a 9x20 metal lathe and the correct Die but curious if anyone had experience doing this and what they learned in the process. Thanks for the replies and Merry Christmas!

It's easy to cut, but the issue then becomes the gas ports which are generally tied to the length of the barrel.

can you post up any links to the info you find, I will soon possibly be cutting one into a pistol barrel
In the days of the old west a 6 shooter was as common as cell phones are today and just annoying if they go off in a theater.
