Checking current market values

Postby Kender » Fri Jan 27, 2012 4:12 am

I plan on going to the gun show in palmetto this weekend. Originally it was just to waste some time and maybe pick up a double mag pouch for my p11 if something jumped out at me...... then it hit me. I remembered that I have been wanting to trade out my current AK and go back to a yugo m70 underfolder or an AK pistol. I owned a Yugo before and traded it for my current AK thinking that the grass was greener and would suit my purposes better. My purpose has changed and after playing around with this AK I want to go back to the underfolder (or maybe a pistol AK but only if it's got the shortened gas system). When I sold my yugo a few years ago the value was equal to the AK I bought just moments later and I want to see if the market still holds these types of AKs at equal value. I figured I would check here before offering up the trade only to find out at that time that I was grossly unbalanced in the trade. The AK I have is a Norinco Mak 90 sporter model. I swapped out the furniture for pistol grip and side folding stock (all 922 compliant) and tapco foregrip. I have all the original furniture and FCG to go with the trade in case someone wants to go original. Would the Norinco AK be an equal trade for either the Yugo M70 underfolder or a good ak pistol?

Thanks for the help.

Yeah, the Norinco and Yugo are about the same value. AK pistol is worth less than either, so if that's what you want you may be better off selling your rifle and buying the pistol.

Depending on the Yugo, it may be about the same value. You've got home builds, Century builds, original good barrels, original dark barrels, and Green Mountain barrels. Pros and cons each way. Shame you're not a bit closer, I have a Yugo UF I'd consider trading.
