Big Lots has one of those small cases in their "Sale" advertisment. $20.

Also, women that dash into the day care center to pick up their kid, dashes back out to find their car broken into & valuables gone. Probably less than 30-40 seconds.
.
There's a storm coming.

In the UK you 'can' leave your firearm in the boot of your car under special circumstances, however if you leave the car unlocked you could face five years in jail........................

Treat with respect what you have or expect to lose it ..... no stones in glass houses from me though [-(

You know its funny, i explaned the situation, and asked if it has happend to anyone else or what to do. And I get post like that.

The situation might have been irresponsible, but how does that make him irresponsible? You have never once missed locking your car? [-( . I think you missed the question i asked, maybe you should reread the last sentence

Yeah. And a woman walking down the street by herself at night that gets raped is....irresponsible. *rollseyes*

C'mon. Can we stop blaming the victim and blame the criminal....ie, the one really at fault?!?

1. He's not getting into the thing with a screwdriver, trust me.

2. He's not going to be able to cut the steel cord that loops through the inside of it and around the leg of my car's seat. Nor is he going to risk taking a whole damn seat out to get the lockbox out. That's a major PITA in the dark when you want to get in and get out. Besides, he doesn't even know if anything's in there.

Basically I lock my carry gun in there when I know I'm going to go into a place that I'm going to be checked. I don't keep it in there overnight.

The criminal is at fault but there are things you can do to make it more difficult for them to victimize you.

It couldn't be more than 20 gauge steel. I can have a gun out of that in 30 seconds with nothing more than a screwdriver. And I'm not exactly mechanically inclined. If I were a betting man, I'd put money on it.

And how thick is the cable? maybe 1/8"? Yeah, he's gonna be able to cut the cable. A pair of shears would work better than dikes, but dikes would work.

And it's more conspicuous than a locked glove box.
...and they think I'm compensating for something?

some of you need to lighten up about being irresponsible, I'm gonna go run around the pool deck with scissors now ](*,)

No society is responsible. Even if the dirtbag gets caught, it is unlikely he will do a single day of jail. And probation is treated like "being grounded." The result is far too many criminals who are comfortable and willing to do a lot of things.

When I was a kid, probably half the cars in neighborhood driveways were unlocked. It didn't even occur to us that we might be able to steal things of value, but it it did, we were all way too afraid of the many possible consequences.

Just tell him to wait a few days and then leave all his windows down on the car that night and sit up in a tree stand. Those little heathens LOVE to return to "get something else" just to rub it in. Trust me,he will get curious! . . . . . . . . .The rest of the story is for him to write! [smilie=pdt_xtremez_13.gif]

Hmm... If I were to get a car safe, I'd fill with some rocks - for the mechanically inclined thieves. Hide the gun in another place.

Best wishes,
Daniel

Yup, I am sure PBSO responded. They have their hands full around this area ALOT just west of here. 441 and 18th can be hairy especially at night. I always keep my head on a swivel when I go over there and my situational awareness and my glock have saved my bacon before over there. I drive right by river oaks every day on my way to work. Really hope the gun gets recovered.

a couple days ago someone got into my jeep and took my laptop, cell phone charger, the entire center console including about 3$ in change, burger king coupons [smilie=014.gif] , and two 1911 mags.

but i'm not stupid enough to leave my guns in the car.

He has about 3 houses within 2 miles of his house... You have to drive damn near a half hour to get to a store from there. But to answer your question... yes, he is stupid. [smilie=011.gif]
