Does anyone own or have shot one of the newer Mossberg 4x4 or Marlin XL bolt actions?
The prices are reasonable but is the quality there?

Been outta town or I might have answered earlier.

Friend bought a Mossberg for his son. Ordinary performance.

Another friend bought one of those Thompson Center bolt in 270. WOW! I showed him how to break it in and after that - MOA or less. Nice performance and an adjustable trigger. Now the but ...but the bolt is just a pin with a shroud over it to make it look like a solid bolt. Strange to me but it did work.

My take on quality construction is it's NOT. It feels good and sure shoots well.
You do not have the RIGHT to do WRONG.

Going with a Tikka T3 lite for my son if the FFL will give it to him, maybe hes a good ole boy.
Thompson Center Venture is guaranteed 100 yard accuracy like the Tikka.
Never found a new Marlin or Mossberg to handle after I picked up the Tikka.
