Ditch the gun and wear short shorts. She will get better tips.

I carried with owner permission as both a manager and a bartender, had to interact with LEO several times and never caught any flak. Strangely the tiny shorts did not get me any more tips :-k

There is no legal requirement to obtain permission.

While that is true, there is financial incentive (keeping her job) for not breaking any company rules that disallow guns in the establishment. She should discuss her concerns with the owner and get his feelings. Depending on how "bad" the neighborhood is, the owner might already be sympathetic to her concerns and may even be carrying himself.

Should the owner give his permission to carry while working she could carry openly or concealed, with or without a carry license, under FS 790.25(3)(n).

On the other hand, if she just wants to keep the situation to herself and she has a carry license, she could carry concealed and STFU about it. Of course, she runs the risk of possibly losing her job if found out. She needs to make a decision of what's important to her.

Thanks guys, she talked to her boss (owner) about it and the owner (which is a woman) sad that's a great idea. Bouncers can get mugged at gun point as well, but I agree having Patrick swayze there wouldn't hurt.

Thanks for the help and the statute.
