Anyone play with a CZ 452 FS (Mannlicher)?

Postby TippyRacer » Fri Mar 18, 2011 1:35 pm

Never knew these existed until a couple weeks ago, don't really need one, but it looks just too delicious and I'm feeling lust in my heart. Anyone have any trigger time behind one, or at least handled one and inspected?

While there are some Google hits there does not seem to be a LOT of discussion specific to the FS (full stock), but the concensus on the CZ 452 seems to be well made and exceptionally accurate. More than just a casual plinker.
Pricey for just a .22, but Bud's has them in stock. May have to order one. Hmmmmm. =:e

I know nothing, and I can prove it.

I have a 16" American CZ-452. I imaging they are all very similar, but I prefer the American one as it comes factory threaded for a supressor. I've owned them in 22LR and 22HMR and all were a blast. I did a trigger job on them for about $2 and brought the pull down to a short and crisp 2lbs.
The 22HMR version was point of impact point of aim at anything out to 150 yards or so. The 22LR with 40gr subsonics had more of a mortar affect, but was still fun as hell. I was hitting 4" steel at 200 yards with both easily.

IIRC the CZ-452 is discontinued, but can still be found at good prices.

In my opinion CZ452 > Rugar 77/22 or nearly any other bolt action rimfire out there. For what you get right out of the box and for the price it's a no brainer.

Buy one!

Ha, figured with all the nuts here there would be some feedback! =D> And quick too!
I never knew they offered these in 17HMR, and I guess you can get a lot of the 452 variants in 22WMR too. Just to be specific I was looking at the plain ole .22 LR, but all opinions are welcome.

Buy one!

Hey TR, I have one and love it. Put several hundred rounds through it to date. Let me know if you want to come down to the range with me some day and try it out. I can do it any time this weekend if that works for you.
